Dynamic 4: Our Approach to the Community

The Kingdom Focused Church is committed to Engaging Local Communities A KFC believes that God calls us to engage and influence the world, not to withdraw from the world in safe compounds. To this end, we continually look for strategies to advance God’s Kingdom through our financial, relational and human resources.

• A KFC aligns their resources to reach and engage their surrounding community. It is important that the budget reflects the expressed commitment to reach the community. At CCFC, we have committed at a minimum of fifty cents of each dollar toward missions (outreach).

• A KFC seeks to do its greatest ministry outside the walls of the local church. The church does not need to know that you are powerful; the world needs to know that we are powerful in situations that they feel overpowered.

• In a KFC, eighty percent of the ministry occurs outside of the church walls in our marketplaces (places of employ, shopping and recreation).

• A KFC ministry affirms the ministry that exists on our jobs (e.g. a school teacher that disciples 30 children for nine months and looks for ways to support her/him in that effort). We want members to discover their ministry in their daily lives.

• A KFC not only responds to the spiritual needs of the community, but to their holistic needs (i.e. gospel deeds of love, justice and mercy).

We are called “to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry, and bring the homeless poor into the house; when you see the naked, to cover him; and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?" Isaiah 58
